A/W 16/17 Trends

Autumn/Winter 2016/2017 season brings pastel, spring, vibrant, absolutely delightful color shades that amaze with density and depth. The colors in trend are: spicy mustard, dusty cedar, warm taupe, ary blue, riverside, Potter’s Clay, aurora red, bodacious, lush meadow. This season is dominated by diversified trends, which are direct proportion with the number of designers. The most wearable are:

  • Overcoats without buttons that close with a belt, accessorized with brooches, that gives an nonchalantly, aristocratic air;
  • Oversize knitted sweaters or short knitted sweaters with high collar, that can match with either long dresses or skirts or wide trousers;
  • Flared pants with a vintage air;
  • Midi office dresses with short or long sleeves matched with a pair of boots or cone heel shoes or pointed court shoes in vogue;
  • Casual knitted mini or midi dresses;
  • Asymmetrical draped dresses made of very fluid materials (silk, satin, wool, velvet);
  • Classic tailoring with fur, leather, sequins insertions;
  • Airy blouses, semi-transparent from natural materials with high collar and bow that combine perfectly with midi or maxi skirts;
  • Pleats are one of the most feminine trends of autumn. Mini or midi pleated skirts and dresses in mineral tones of beige, nude, blue or pink are a must-have;

  • Furs (fur bags, fur boots, colored fur coats);
  • Materials such as silk, wool, lightweight fabrics, vinyl, latex, patent leather. Velvet is the texture of this season, so you can choose anything from jackets, dresses, skirts, handbags, shoes, sandals or velvet boots.
  • Outfits with metal elements. Although these seem daring and risky, if are matched with neutral tones will give you a perfect look. If you do not find yourself in this trend, you can choose for metallic accessories that will add a unique style to your outfit.
  • Plaids, very long sleeves, quilted jackets, ruffles, animal print and floral prints.

In terms of accessories which might surprise us are the brooches, safety pins, massive bracelets, overlapping strings of pearls, rings and earrings decorated with large asymmetric fringe and oversized pendants, massive collars at the neck.

On the whole, being fashionable does not mean wearing trendy outfits, it rather means wearing clothes, colors and accessories that suit you and are in perfect harmony with your personality and body lines. You should wear everything that makes you feel beautiful, feminine and confident!
